Even as the coronavirus threatens more and more lives across the globe, some people are trying their best put a spin on the deadly pandemic. In one such bid, a couple in Uttar Pradesh has named their newborn boy “Sanitizer”.

The incident has been reported from Saharanpur district in the state. Vijay Vihar resident, Omvir Singh says he named his son “Sanitizer” because the newborn had capacity to fight against coronavirus.

“Whenever people will talk of Corona, they will remember that it was Sanitizer that saved them,” News18 quoted Omvir Singh as saying.

Omvir’s wife Monika gave birth to Sanitizer on Sunday in a hospital. Monika said that as soon as her husband named his son, all medical staff started smiling.

The couple has asked all relatives and family members to wait for the lockdown to be lifted before they celebrate the baby’s coming.

Earlier, a couple from Raipur had named their twins ‘Covid’ and ‘Corona’.  In another such instance, a baby girl born in Gorakhpur on the day of Janata Curfew was named ‘Corona’. Another boy born a week later in Deoria district of UP has been named ‘Lockdown’.
