Due to continuous snowfall six national highways and 300 other connecting roads are closed in Himachal Pradesh.
The tourists have already thronged various hill stations of the state, mostly Shimla. However, due to continuous snow vehicular traffic has stopped. And it may also impact the tourists and strand them. Though, the PWD department has pressed snow cutters into action.
In Shimla, NH 5 and NH 305 have been closed while 39 connecting roads are closed.
Khara Pathar has witnessed one-and-a-half feet snow while Kufri and Narkanda has witnessed one feet snow.
In Theog, Kotkhai, Rampur and Shimla town there is five inches snow.
Due to snowfall, 27 roads connecting villages have lost connectivity in Rohru alone.
Electricity has also been disrupted due to heavy snow in the region.
Elsewhere in Haripur Dhar of Sirmaur, there has been six inches snowfall. In case of any exigency, the district administration has asked to call on the helpline number 1077 or call up on 0177-2800880 or 2800881.
In Kinnaur district there has been one feet snow in most of the areas including Chitkul, Rakcham and Kalpa. The same is also true about Lahaul Spiti.
