Three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials have confirmed.
The encounter took place in Kellar area in south Kashmir. The firing started early morning after a joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Army and the Jammu and Kashmir police was attacked by terrorists during a search operation in the area.
The identities of the terrorists killed in the encounter are yet to be ascertained. Weapons have been recovered from the encounter site.

“Hiding terrorists opened fire at the security forces in Yarwan village of Keller area during a cordon and search operation. Three terrorists were killed in the resulting encounter,” a police officer confirmed the news.
Meanwhile, another encounter is taking place at Handwara in Kupwara district. The gunfight is taking place at Yaroo area in Handwara, informed Jammu and Kashmir police in which one terrorist has been killed.
