Tourists thronging various tourist spots may not have experienced a white Christmas this year but the New Year eve has something for them to cheer about. The weatherman has predicted snowfall and rains in most parts of the state for the next one week beginning Monday.
The lowest temperature recorded in Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hours was minus 6.8 degree Celsius in Keylong, while Una remained the hottest at 22.2 degree centigrade. The Kullu and Lahaul & Spiti administrations have issued an alert for the next four days.
According to the Met department, there are chances of snowfall and rains for the next one week in the state. The weather conditions will continue to be overcast till January 7.
While the skies remained clear in the capital, tourists made a beeline to the famous tourist spots in Shimla, Kufri, Kullu and Manali. The hotels in these places are occupied to the full.
The temperatures during the morning and evening are hovering below the zero degree mark. Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of 5.2 degrees on Sunday. In Sundernagar the mercury stood at zero degrees, Bhuntar at minur 0.2 degrees, Kalpa at minus 1.6 degrees, Dharamsala at 2.8 degrees, Una at 1.2 degrees, Nahan at 3.9 degrees, Palampur at 3.0 degrees, Solan at zero degree, Manali at minus 1.2 degrees, Kufri at 3.0 degrees and Mandi at 0.1 degrees.
The maximum temperature in Una remained at 22.2 degrees, Sundernagar at 19.6 degrees, Bhuntar at 16.3 degrees, Shimla at 14.4 degrees and Keylong at 2.6 degree Celsius.
