A son killed his father after an argument broke out between them over a ‘badly cooked’ mutton curry by his wife. The incident took place on Sunday at V Kota mandal in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh.
According to Sub Inspector, B Raviprakash Reddy, when the deceased, Chella Gurrappa (65) along with his family sat for lunch, he found that the mutton curry was raw. He started scolding his daughter-in-law.

As Gurrappa was in an inebriated state, he threw his lunch plate on his daughter-in law’s face in front of everyone. Meanwhile, she got injured in the incident. Unable to bear the humiliation meted out to his wife, Chella Venkata Ramudu abused his father for his behaviour. In a fit of rage, Chella hit his father’s head against the wall several times. Gurrappa sustained head injuries and died on the spot.

After hearing about the incident, the police rushed to his house and sent the body for postmortem. Thereafter, the police took all the family members into custody. A case of murder has been registered. However, the police also suspect the involvement of other family members in the murder. The family members said that Gurrappa was an alcoholic.
