20-year-old Subhanso was studying at a university in the UK. Police found him dead at his apartment in Brighton in Sussex. Shubanso was the son of Pul with his first wife Dangwimsai Pul.
East Sussex police found Subhanso dead in a bedroom in Falmer on Sunday afternoon. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
The Pul family is trying to get in touch with the Indian High Commissin in the UK to bring back Shubanso’s body.
KALIKHO PUL HAD COMMITTED SUICIDE
Notably, Kalikho Pul was the acting Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh for a brief time in 2016.
With the support of a few elected members of Congress and the opposing Bharatiya Janata Party, he took Chief Ministership of Arunachal Pradesh. However, the Supreme Court of India ruled against this appointment on various grounds. On 9 August 2016, Pul allegedly committed suicide by hanging at his official residence in Itanagar.
Dangwimsai Pul, the first wife, had moved the Supreme Court seeking a probe into his death. She also sought probe into allegations of massive corruption mentioned in her husband’s suicide note. Interestingly, the BJP gave a ticket to Pul’s third wife, Dasanglu Pul to contest the by-elections from Hayuliang, which she won.
