A 19-year-old boy from Assam was arrested by Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism squad on Tuesday for threatening to kill players of Indian national cricket team.
The boy has been identified as Brij Mohan Das who is a resident of Morigaon in Assam. According to the reports, he had sent an email to Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) on August 16 in which he had threatened to kill the players of the Indian cricket team. He had also sent such emails to more cricket bards of other countries.
A team of Maharashtra ATS went to Assam to arrest Brij. They also recovered the electronic device used to send the email.
A case under section sections 506(II), and 509 of IPC along with section 7 of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act 1932 has been registered against him.
Brij Mohan Das was brought to Mumbai and produced before Mazgaon court. He has been remanded to police custody till August 26.
