The Hush Post: Chennai Super Kings won their record third T20 Indian Premier League tournament beating defending champions Sunriser’s Hyderabad at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. But the win only came after the initial jitters CSK faced.

Batting second and chasing 178 runs, the first four overs for Chennai Super Kings were a nightmare, beginning with the first over as Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a maiden. The first CSK run came in the eleventh ball. And next two overs were no better for them. CSK started to loosen after sixth over.

After that, it was Shane Watson, who butchered the SRH attack seldom seen before.  Such was the way he attacked hitting mostly sixes all across the stadium, that in the last six overs, CSK, it seemed, could have played like a Test match. But Watson, who first lost Du Plessis and then Suresh Raina, who made a commendable contribution, looked unstoppable as other batsmen around him looked like a padding around him. Towards the end of the game, Watson was not out on 117 while Ambati Rayudu was not out on 16 hitting a four of the last ball.

It all began after 10th overs when the tables turned for SRH with CSK having 80 runs.

Earlier, Sunriser’s Hyderabad made 178 runs for a loss of six wickets mostly with the help of Kane Williamson who scored 47 runs. Later, the dangerous Yusuf Pathan also made 45 runs.

Put into bat, Shreevats Goswami was the first to walk back to the pavilion owing to a bad mix-up. He was out for 5 runs. Shikhar Dhawan looked in fine touch but was outfoxed by India teammate Ravindra Jadeja for 25. Williamson was dismissed for 47 runs after hitting five fours and two sixes. Shakib Ul Hasan made 23 and later Braithwaite made a quick 22 of 11 balls followed by Yusuf bringing the SRH innings to end with his 45.
