The Hush Post: A video is going viral on social media which shows a Pakistani man singing Indian National Anthem. The man is singing India’s National Anthem before the start of Indo-Pakistan Asia Cup cricket match on Wednesday last.
The 53-second video shows a Pakistani man recording himself while singing “Jan Gan Man” at Dubai International Stadium.
The netizens, especially those from India, are widely sharing this video on the social networking site Facebook, a report said.
This man is 29-year-old Adil Taj, a Dubai-based Pakistani. He was born in Pakistan’s Abbottabad. For the last five years, he is in the United Arabs Emirates (UAE) where he helps his brother in his business.
“I was humbled by the respect Indians showed when our (Pakistan) anthem was being played. So I thought that I should also make a small gesture from my side,” India Today quoted Adil Taj as saying.
The video shows Taj standing with other fans at the start of match when the national anthems were played out.
Adil Taj, a Bollywood fan, says he memorised the Indian National Anthem from Karan Johars “Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham”.
“Indians are telling me that their opinion about Pakistanis has changed after watching his video. I feel happy that it has made a positive impact,” Taj said.
He believes sports unite nations and can create peace between India and Pakistan. “I would love to watch Virat Kohli and other players play in Lahore,” Taj said.
