The Hush Post: India beat South Africa in the third One Day International at Cape Town. With this win, India have an unassailable lead of 3-0 in this six ODI series against the Proteas. Most of the South African batsmen failed to read the ball coming out of the hands of both the Indian wrist spinners, Yuzenvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. Both the spinners who took four wickets each to wipe out the Proteas challenge while the remaining two wickets went to Jasprit Bumrah. The stand-in South African skipper Aiden Markram said that India were a difficult side to play and played like the champions.
Earlier, batting first, India made 303 runs for the loss of six wickets in 50 overs with Virat Kohli not out on 160 while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was the last Indian to walk out of the pavilion, on the other end kept rotating to give enough strike to his captain. This was Kohli’s 34 century. Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan made a valuable 76 followed by some small partnerships of Kohli with Ajinkya Rahane, Hardik Pandya, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and KD Jadhav.
When South Africans came to bat, except for JP Duminy, who made 51 runs and then Markram who made 32 runs nobody really looked set to take on the Indian spinners Yadav and Chahal who spun through the entire Proteas batting line up till the last man. South Africa were all out for 179 runs thereby losing by a margin of 124 runs. Virat Kohli was declared man of the match.
