The Hush Post: India won the cricket Asia Cup finals on the second last ball of the match defeating Bangladesh by three wickets.
Chasing 222, India was in doldrums when Dhoni was out and Jadhav, who had a hamstring, went back to the pavilion. But he returned just when India wanted him to be back on the ground to hit the winning runs.
Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma gave India a brilliant start chasing 222. Bangladesh made 222, mostly thanks to Liton Das’ century which went in vain after India snatched victory in a game which went down to the wire.
Kedar Jadhav made a valuable 23. But before him, Dhoni made 36, Karthik 37, Rohit Sharma 48. But towards the end, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav also contributed towards India’s victory.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to field. Bangladesh was 120 for no loss but lost all the wickets within the next 102 runs.
This is India’s seventh Asia Cup title win.
