The Hush Post: Riding on Rohit Sharma’s third double century, India scored a mammoth 392 for the loss of three wickets in 50 overs against Sri Lanka in the second One Day International at Mohali. Rohit made 208 runs in 153 balls while fellow Mumbaikar, Shreyas Iyer scored 88 in his second ODI.
After the first hundred runs, he scored the next hundred in just 36 balls, hitting towering sixes in all directions at will, as his wife Ritika was seen on the edge of the seat, nervous, fingers crossed during the most of the match. Today was also their marriage anniversary. And Rohit gave his wife a full visual treat of what a cricket match can be, when he is in the middle. Her fingers finally uncrossed as Rohit took a double to complete his third daddy century, as he threw a kiss at her face covered with tears of happiness.
This is his 16th century in the ODIs with a strike rate of 135. He hit 12 sixes and 13 fours to reach 208. In the last 10 overs, India scored 147 runs. And Rohit scored 99 of those.
