The Hush Post: Olympic bronze medalist Saina Nehwal outshone PV Sindhu in straight games in the women’s singles final to clinch the National Badminton Championship title on Wednesday. Saina, who is ranked World No. 11, won 21-17, 27-25 against her fancied Hyderabadi rival and Rio Olympics silver medallist Sindhu. Saina entered the women’s singles final of the tournament as favourites since recently she has beaten the giants like Nozomi Okuhara of Japan and Carolina Marin of Hungary.
Saina is the former World No 1 while Sindhu rose to the top after clinching the silver at Rio Olympics. Saina has also won the bronze at London Olympics before her career was marred by injuries. Sindhu rose to new heights in international badminton after winning the 2016 China Open, India Open and Korea Open.
