The Hush Post: National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested the second son of Hizb chief Syed Salahuddin during a night raid at his house in Rambagh area of Srinagar. A joint team of NIA, CRPF and police raided his house in the night. He was allegedly receiving money from his father, Syed Salahuddin, terror group Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander and a globally wanted terrorist who lives in Pakistan.

According to Greater Kashmir newspaper, Syed Shakeel Ahmad works as a lab technician at government hospital SKIMS (Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences) Soura. Last year, the central probe agency had arrested Syed Shahid, another son of Salahuddin, in a funding case and he is lodged in Tihar Jail. He was an employee of the Agriculture Department, posted as an agricultural assistant in his native village Soibugh. Following his arrest in October last year, he was suspended.

The case, registered by the NIA in 2011, relates to the transfer of money from Pakistan to Jammu and Kashmir through illegal channels via Delhi. The agency believes the money was used in funding terrorism and secessionist activities.

Syed Salahuddin was declared a Specially Designated Global Terrorist by the US Department of State. He is also the chairman of the United Jehad Council (UJC), a conglomerate of terrorist outfits operating in the Kashmir valley.

Asadullah Naikoo (70), ather of top Hizb commander Riyaz Naikoo, was also arrested by the government forces during a night raid at Awantipora in Pulwama district.
