Bengali star-turned-politician MP Nusrat Jahan, who rose to controversial eminence after having clicked a selfie outside the Parliament has been admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata. She suffered an acute respiratory disorder after which she had to be hospitalised, her family said on Monday.
Jahan, elected to Lok Sabha from Basirhat on a Trinamool Congress ticket, was admitted to the hospital at around 9.30 pm on Sunday.
Her family said in a statement that “Nusrat has been admitted to the hospital due to a respiratory issue. She has a history of asthma… ”
“Jahan is in the Intensive Care Unit ICU but is stable and conscious,” it said.
