The Hush Post: A 19-year-old student lost her precious life due to the callousness of an instructor who pushed her to jump during a disaster preparedness drill. The drill was taking place in a Coimbatore college in Tamil Nadu.

The tragedy struck at about 4 pm on Thursday, when students of the college were gathered after their classes to give them a demonstration of how to escape if disaster strikes.

A video of the training session showed Lokeswari standing on the ledge in the balcony on the corridors of the second floor. The trainer Arumugan is seen standing beside her telling her to jump down. A knotted rope was hanging beside her for safety which the instructor held in his hand, instead of her holding it.

Out of fear, she was reluctant to do so, after initially cajoling her to jump on her own, he pushed her, in a flurry she tumbled down, and her head hit the ledge of the floor below. Eyewitnesses said Lokeswari was reluctant and did not want to jump.

People were waiting to catch Lokeswari on the net on the grounds but unfortunately, her body hit the ground after hitting the ledge.

She was immediately taken to a private hospital nearby where she was refused treatment and referred her to a government hospital where she died.

The student Lokeswari was a second year student doing a BBA course at Kalai Magal Arts and Science College and belonged to a nearby village. The trainer Arumugan has been taken into custody by the police. A case for causing death due to negligence has been filed against him.
