The entire BJP leadership and cadre have followed the footsteps of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and added prefix “Chowkidar” to their names. However, BJP MP Subramanian Swamy has refrained from doing so. The Rajya Sabha MP has given a reason which has shocked the nation.
Subramanian Swamy on Sunday said that he has not added “Chowkidar” to his name on Twitter because he is a Brahmin. He made the comment during an interview to a Tamil channel.
Swamy said that he is a Brahmin and hence, cannot be a Chowkidar. The video clipping has gone viral on social media.

He commented in Tamil, which can be translated as, “I cannot become a Chowkidar because I am Brahmin. Brahmins can’t be chowkidars. It’s a fact. I will give orders that the Chowkidars have to execute. That’s what everyone expects from the appointed Chowkidars. So, I cannot be one.”
Interestingly, the BJP started its “Main Bhi Chokidar campaign” to counter Congress party’s “Chowkidar Chor Hai” jibe.
PM Modi was the first to add “Chowkidar” to his Twitter handle name. Following suit, all the BJP leaders across the country added Chowkidar to their names.
