Chidambaram’s Chennai home had thieves come over who decamped with antique jewellery worth crores of rupees, Rs 1.50 lakh cash and six costly silk sarees.
Now, Chidambaram is a man of influence whether in or out of power. But this incident brought to the fore how bad the situation can be. The incident took place at his Pycroft Garden Road residence in Nungambakkam.
The theft came to light at 7.30 am on Sunday when Chidambaram’s wife Nalini Chidambaram came back after spending a month at Ooty.

Based on the complaint an FIR has been registered by Nalini’s manager, police have started investigating the scene of crime and have pressed sniffer dogs into action.
