600 women from 16 different states allegedly sent their nude photos and videos to a Chennai based software engineer as he promised them to provide a front desk job in a five-star hotel.
According to the reports by Times of India, Raj Chezhiyan alias Pradeep, masquerading as an HR Manager, was arrested by Cyberabad police from his home in Chennai after a local woman filed a complaint against him.
The victims are reportedly from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Delhi and from several other states. Investigations reveal that Pradeep is an employee of a reputed IT firm. However, he was running a fake HR office from his home. He confessed that he has duped 600 women.
According to the reports by NDTV, the police have found more than 60 nude photos of several women from his mobile phone.
A senior police official said, “The accused was usually on the night shift, he claimed that since he used to feel lonely and get frustrated throughout the day with his wife working, he began collecting the mobile numbers of women through a popular e-classified portal just for fun. But soon it gave way to blackmail.”
The complainant also said that Pradeep approached her on the pretext of providing her job in a five-star hotel and asked her to send her nude photos. A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered and the accused has been sent to the judicial custody.
