A man allegedly attempted to dispose of his girlfriend’s body after she died during her abortion in a private nursing home in Kalaburagi town of Karnataka.

The police on Thursday said that 22-year-old woman’s body was traced to the forest near Zaheerabad town in Medak district. According to the reports, the girl hailed from Kalabugari district.

The investigations revealed that she was in love with 26-year-old Ravi Kumar who is a son of a retired police officer. The police informed that the couple developed an intimate relationship.

On September 3, Ravi Kumar, posing as her husband, took the girl to a local nursing home for abortion as she got pregnant. But during the process, the girl reportedly died.

According to the police, Kumar carried her dead body for nearly 24 hours in the car and took her to the forest near Parigi on September 4. There he tried to dump the remains and dispose of the body by setting it on fire.

However, the family of the girl tried to find her on their own for three days and lodged a missing complaint on September 6.

Brahmapur police inspector Srimanth Ilwal reportedly said, “Since the incident happened in Telangana, we are waiting for the case to be transferred here to initiate further action. Ravi Kumar has been detained.”
