Terrorists in Kashmir have starting non-locals in the aftermath of abrogation of Article 370 from J&K. In the past three days, militants have killed three non-locals in South Kashmir. On Wednesday, militants gunned down a fruit trader from Fazilka, Punjab and a labourer from Chattisgarh.
According to reports, a group of militants targeted apple trader Charanjeet Singh and his friend Sanjeev Kumar in Tranz, Shopian. Charanjeet Singh died on the spot while Sanjeev Kumar was seriously injured in the firing. He is undergoing treatment at the hospital in Srinagar.
“The militants fired from point-blank range towards the two traders hailing from Punjab. One of the traders identified as Charanjeet Singh died on the spot while another, Sanjeev Kumar, sustained bullet injuries,” said an officer.
Earlier in the day, terrorists shot dead a migrant labourer from Chattisgarh in Nihama, Kakapora area of Pulwama district. Identified as Sethi Kumar Sagar, he worked in a brick kiln in the area. He was accompanied by his nephew, but militants spared him.
Reports say militants are deliberately attacking non-locals. They had even issued a warning to non-Kashmiris to move out of the valley.
Munir Khan, Additional Director General, Law and Order, said the killing of the non-locals look like a pattern to disturb and aggravate the situation.
