In a latest update on Balakot air strikes by India the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has said that top 25 Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist commanders have been killed as part of the air strikes which took place today morning. He confirmed this to Cabinet Committee of Security CCS. The total number of terrorists and people aiding terror camps killed could be anything between 200 and 300.

At the training camp, a two-month training course had begun on February 20 and it was to go on till April 15. The terrorist housed there were brought back from Muzaffarabad, where they were housed earlier. After the Pulwama attack, Pakistan anticipated surgical strikes and thought that temporarily pushing back the terrorists to Balakot would make it difficult for India to engage in surgical strikes. However, they were caught off guard and never thought that India could use Air Force.

Sources said that the compound in Balakot had a swimming pool and a lot of recreation facilities and ammunition dump. Apart from the swimming pool, the terrorists were also trained for jihad in water in the nearby Kunhar river which flows through the town of Balakot. The river is occasionally also used for purposes of rafting for tourists.

The staircase at the terror facility had flags of the US, UK and Israeli flag drawn on which the terrorists were made to walk to show hatred towards these nations.

In the meanwhile, according to the locals, the area has been sealed for the common people including the police by the security agencies in Pakistan. The training camp was run by Maulana Azhar Masood, the brother-in-law of Maulana Masood Azhar. There is no word of confirmation on whether Maulana Yusuf Azhar has also been killed there.
