The Hush Post: Maruti Suzuki has announced the launch if its third-generation model of its popular hatchback Swift at the Auto Expo 2018 starting from February 7 in New Delhi. Bookings for the new version have started from today (January 18) onwards with an initial payment of Rs 11,000 at over 2,300 Maruti dealerships across the country. The 2018 Swift is wider (up by 40mm) at 1735 mm, has a longer wheelbase which has gone up by 20 mm at 2450 mm and is shorter than its predecessor by 10 mm. Already available in the international market, the new-generation Suzuki Swift comes with an all-new design which is exactly similar to the existing Dzire sedan in India.
The car also gets new sportier alloys, a floating-style roof design with blackened B-pillar, and new front and rear bumper. It will also have a new SmartPlay infotainment system with the 7-inch touchscreen and connectivity options like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The car has more cabin as well as boot space than before and the design is lighter helping it to perform better and makes it fuel efficient.
There will be a primary of 4 variants on offer in both petrol and diesel – LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+. The AGS will be only available in the VXi and ZXi variants in both fuel types. It will be available in six colours, the prime lucent orange is the new colour on offer on the Swift.
