Fresh evidence submitted against Tytler in 1984 anti-Sikh riots case

Fresh evidence handed over to SIT against Tytler in anti-Sikh riots case.

The Hush Post: The Narendra Modi Government has handed fresh proof based on the interview given by Indian National Congress leader Jagdish Tytler to TV 18 news channel regarding the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The evidence has been handed over to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing anti-Sikh riots of 1984. The Union Home Ministry has written to Justice (Retd) SN Dhingra, Chairman, SIT about the fresh evidence disclosed by Tytler to Senior Editor of TV 18 Ritesh Lakhi.

The official letter sent to Justice Dhingra, Hitlar Singh, Under Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), directly points to the TV interview of Tytler. Referring to the representation of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), the letter said that the CD of the interview was also being handed over to SIT to be taken as fresh evidence. The letter states, that as per the representation by the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee, there is fresh evidence to the case of 1984 riots. The letter states:“New facts & circumstances and new revelations in the case of 1984 anti-Sikh riots have surfaced with reference to the involvement of Jagdish Tytler, Mr Kamal Nath, Mr HKL Bhagat and Mr Sajjan Kumar in the said TV interview given by Shri Tytler to News18. The revelations may contain material evidence/leads having relations with some of the 186 cases to be further investigated by SIT constituted by Hon’ble Supreme Court. Hence, SIT is requested to examine the issue raised in the letter and the material provided in the CD while undertaking further investigation of the cases entrusted to it.”
