A 37-year-old man killed his and three children reportedly after he found himself to be in financial mess.
The accused, Sumit Kumar had reportedly posted a video on his family’s WhatsApp group saying that he had killed his wife and three children.
He also wrote that he would soon kill himself. The man has ever since gone missing.
The incident came to light on Sunday evening in Gyan Khand area of Indirapuram locality bordering Delhi.
Superintendent of Police, City, Shlok Kumar said Sumit Kumar killed his wife Ashnu Bala (32), son Permesh (5), and twins Akriti (4) and Aru (4) by giving them sleeping pills in some liquid.
Before vanishing, he informed his brother-in-law that he had killed his wife and children and was going to kill himself. He is yet to be traced.
According to police, Sumit Kumar was in financial mess after losing his job in Bengaluru in January this year.
He had resigned from a Bengaluru-based company named UST Global in December 2018 and this may have been the reason for the extreme step he took. Sumit Kumar had allegedly slit the throats of his family members in their flat in Indirapuram.
The forensic team’s primary investigation suggests the incident occurred early Sunday but came to light at about 8 pm, the SP said, adding that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem and investigations are on.
