Hasin Jahan, wife of Indian pacer Mohammed Shami, was arrested by Amroha police in Uttar Pradesh late Sunday night. She had barged into cricketer’s house where she was involved in an argument with Shami’s mother.
According to news reports, the police arrested Jahan under Section 151 according to which the police can arrest a person without a warrant for 24 hours.
Jahan entered Shami’s house with her daughter Bebo. She got into an argument with her in-laws after which they called the police.
They alleged that she had forcefully entered the house. However, Hasin Jahan countered that the police arrested because of her famous husband.
Shami is currently playing for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Shami has been one of the key bowlers for the R Ashwin-led franchise where he has claimed 14 wickets in 11 matches.
Jahan had accused Shami of sexual harassment as well as extra-marital affairs ahead of IPL 2018. Shami paid heavily because of the allegations in terms of his career as BCCI excluded him from the annual contracts.
Jahan had then posted several screenshots of Shami’s chat with other women, on her Facebook account.
