In Muzaffarnagar, a 26-year-old bride was gangraped by her husband and his brother-in-law. This horrific incident took place on the wedding night of the victim.
According to the local police the incident took place in a village situated in the outskirts of Muzaffarnagar on March 6 but came into light on Thursday.
The police added that the victim was taken to a hospital on March 7 and is currently undergoing treatment.
The brother of the victim alleged that his sisters-in-law had demanded dowry from him. He added that he had spent Rs. 7 lakh on the wedding of his sister.
The police registered an FIR against the accused and their family. The case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Dowry Act.
The officials are investigating into the matter and interrogations are going on.
Earlier, a 15-year-old minor girl was allegedly gangraped by four youths in a field at gunpoint in Muzaffarnagar’s Mansoorpur village on March 9.
