The Hush Post: A second-year student of Amity University 20-year-old Vivek Yadav escaped a probable death on Friday.
The incident occurred at 6:00 pm when Vivek Yadav a second-year student of the Bachelors in Business Administration course was assaulted by accused Surya Jatav, who then brandished a revolver at him as he drove his car. The video showed Jatav climbing onto the side of the Yadav’s car window and brandishing a revolver at the occupants inside the vehicle.
The police arrested 24-year-old Jatav for an attempt to murder after a video emerged confirming the incident. Jatav from Ghaziabad was arrested from his residence by a team from the Sector 39 police station.
“Yadav has claimed that he was driving his car when Surya climbed on the side of the window and started abusing him. He then brandished a revolver at him and was about to fire it, when Yadav sped away. He is unhurt,” Amit Kumar Singh, Station house officer, sector 39 police station, said.
The victim then filed a complaint claiming that Jatav attempted to murder him.
“Based on the complaint and the video, we have booked Jatav under the Indian Penal Code sections 307, 323, 504 and 506 for an attempt to murder, voluntarily causing hurt, intentional insult and criminal intimidation. We arrested him today morning,” Singh added.
According to the police, Jatav studied political science at Amity University from 2015-18. He was supposed to have graduated from the university in June. However, he failed to pass the exams. The university management has said Jatav is “not a regular” student.
The Amity University management, taking cognizance of the matter, has initiated an inquiry against both Yadav and Jatav.
“We have come to know through the media that two students of Amity University, Surya Jatav ( not a regular student) and Vivek Yadav were involved in a scuffle outside the university campus. There has been no complaint lodged by either of them with the university so far.
