The Hush Post: Two priests in Uttar Pradesh were found brutally murdered and a third was critically injured with their tongues cut and flung nearby, on Wednesday morning.
All three were found tied to their beds at the Bhayanak Nath temple in Auraiya’s Bidhuna in Kudarkot village in UP with injuries apparently caused by some sharp-edged objects. The dead were identified as head priest Lajja Ram, 70 and Halke Ram, 60 and the third, Ram Sharan’s condition is found critical.
The local residents who were angry with the murder of two priests came out in protest and blocked the main road, demanding immediate arrest of the criminals. As per reports, the protesters also threw stones at the policemen trying to scatter them.
The district magistrate of Auraiya, SP Mishra and superintendent of police Nageshwar Singh were present on the location.
In an earlier incident as well, a similar incident took place in Aligarh, UP where a priest and his associate were brutally killed and their bodies were recovered from the temple premises, in Bijouli village in the Pali Mukimpur area on Monday.
The priest, identified as Kaalidas (75), and his associate, Sonpal, were battered to death by sticks and a farmer, Mahinder, whose fields are next to the temple compound, who was also sleeping on the same spot, was also critically injured in the attack.
He has been admitted to the Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College where his condition is serious, police said. As news of the incident broke, hundreds of villagers gathered at the spot demanding arrest of those involved in the act.
