The Unnao rape case victim who was set afire on Thursday walked one kilometre after the crime and sought help from a person.

The victim then called 112 and informed the police about the incident. The PCR and ambulance arrived after the victim’s call.

The victim has given her statement to the magistrate. In her statement, the Unnao rape victim named five persons who set her ablaze. The victim said, the rape victim was thrashed up by the five men who then stabbed her and set her ablaze.

The incident occurred at Sindupur village under Bihar police station area in Unnao district. The victim was shifted to a government hospital in Lucknow. She is in critical condition now. Out of the five accused, two have been arrested.

The woman was allegedly raped in March. The accused were initially jailed but were later granted bail. The victim was on her way to Rae Bareli for a hearing in the rape case when she was attacked. In March, the woman had filed a complaint against two men accusing them of raping her and also filming the act.

In yet another rape case in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh Police had booked former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar about a year back. He was first booked for rape and later in connection with accident of the rape victim. In that case, Sengar himself is the accused.

The Unnao rape victim was travelling in a car with her family members when it was hit by a speeding truck on NH 32 near Atora village. Two people were killed in the accident while the victim, her elder sister, and her lawyer had received serious injuries.
