UP railway cops allegedly loot Rs 50,000 from businessman at Chandausi railway station

The railway police cops posted at Chandausi railway station in Uttar Pradesh allegedly looted Rs 50,000 and some other valuables from a businessman on Friday night. Also, they kept him at the police station for an entire night.

The man has been identified as Ankit Rastogi. According to the reports, he was at the railway station drinking refrigerated water. At that time, police personnel who was in a civil dress called and abused him.

Ankit Rastogi reportedly said, “The policemen looted Rs 71,000 from me apart from taking away my mobile phone, a ring and a rosary of rudrakshas. They kept me in the police station for an entire night and when I said in the morning that I had to pay some amount to someone, they gave back Rs 21,000. They also made me sign a paper forcefully that if I complain about them they would arrest me.”

However, PK Tiwari, SP railway has suspended the constables- Hemant, Wasim, and Akhil in the case. He also directed that Rastogi’s money should be returned to him.
