The Hush Post: UP Police has arrested three persons who were allegedly planning the assassination of former Punjab Chief Minister CM Parkash Singh Badal. They were planning to assassinate Badal on his UP visit which according to them was in the offing.
The Additional Director General of Police Meerut Zone Prashant Kumar revealed this at a press conference today. He attributed this as a motive behind the arms loot which took place on October 2 near a police post at Chausana at Kamalpur village in Shyamli, UP.
The loot was organised to snatch the rifles. These weapons were allegedly looted to be used in one of the sabhas, either meetings or a rally of former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal. The plan was to fire so as to disperse the crowd and then somehow execute the plan which was to assassinate Badal Senior, as per a report in News18.
In that loot on October 2, head constable Sansar Singh and home guard Sanjay Verma were shot at by the assailants and the culprits made a vanishing act with the weapons. After the loot, they hid the weapons in a gurdwara.
According to information given by ADG Prashant Singh, the key member of the team Kulwant Singh was in contact with the Khalistani forces. He belongs to Birsa Da Dera, village Azizpur, Shyamli. And the man who was overseeing the execution of the plan was one German Singh, who is still at large.
