Some students of the Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School have reportedly sent a letter to the District Magistrate and have complained about the midnight activities of their warden

Jasnoor Kaur, The Hush Post: The warden of an all-girls school in Meerut city of Uttar Pradesh has been accused of molesting girls during nights after dressing dressed up as a ghost. Besides dressing herself as a ghost, the warden used to cover her face also to hide her identity.

Some students of the Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School have reportedly sent a letter to the District Magistrate and have complained about the midnight activities of their warden, a report said.

The students have written in the letter written with a pencil that how the warden walks around the premises to scare them and how she touches some girls inappropriately, the report said.

The District Magistrate has reportedly marked an ordered inquiry in the case regarding the molestation of girls, the report said.

Besides 100 students, the school also houses two teachers and a warden, the report said.

“She (warden) carries a perfume-like liquid with her and keeps spraying it on certain girls. She also whispers, pretending to talk to a girl that doesn’t exist. She pulls our clothes and at times even arms and legs, but we do not budge or open our eyes,” a student was quoted as saying.

The girls, who have complained about the warden’s alleged molestation, are from class VI, VII and VIII, the report said.

The students have complained that many times the warden has brought outsiders and abused girls of the school, it was reported.

“Our warden has also taken a few girls outside the school premises at night. She also came to my room and touched me inappropriately when I was half-asleep and I continued to pretend that I was asleep,” a class VIII girl was quoted.

Meerut’s basic Shiksha Adhikari, Satendra Kumar, was quoted as having said, “An inquiry, headed by the Kasturba Gandhi school’s district coordinator and block education officer, has been set up. Prima facie, it has come to our knowledge that the children were being scared as part of a tiff between a full-time teacher and the warden. As soon as the report is submitted, appropriate and strict action will be taken.”
