An Indian Military Academy cadet died during training drill in Dehradun, the IMA officials informed on Tuesday. The official statement said that the cadet Amul Rawal sustained head injuries and was rushed to Military Hospital, Dehradun immediately where he was declared brought dead.
The statement stated, “The cadet Amul Rawal, sustained a head injury and was given immediate medical attention on the spot. He was rushed to Military Hospital, Dehradun, but was declared brought dead on arrival.”
The deceased cadet, 21-year-old Amul Rawal was from Karnal, Haryana. His sudden death has put his family members into deep shock. The uncle of the deceased, Anil Kumar said, “He was very happy about joining the academy and used to tell us about the training whenever we met him.”
“We did not know what exactly happened, but we had received information that Amul was injured in accident during training.” Anil Kumar said.
The uncle added that the other members of the family had gone to receive the body.
Amul had joined the National Defence Academy in 2016 and came to IMA Dehradun in January this year.
An inquiry has been ordered into the death.
Amul Rawal is survived by his father Jai Chand, mother Sunita Devi and younger brother Tarun Rawal.
