A PIL was filed earlier stating that the wedding preparations were damaging the environment.

Many celebrities like Katrina Kaif and Baba Ramdev had attended the wedding. Baba Ramdev also gave a yoga session during the wedding.

Gupta’s had booked almost all the resorts and hotels in the area for these high-profile weddings. The flowers for the same was imported from Switzerland.

The task of cleaning the waste left behind was given to the supervisor of Nagar Palika Parishad of Joshimath, Anil, along with a team of 20 men. One of the team members said that weddings created a problem of garbage waste in the hill station which has surpassed 20 quintals.

According to the reports by ANI, a local resident said, “Plastic packets and bottles are lying everywhere. Our cows go for grazing every day in the area. What if they consume plastic? Who would take the responsibility? The situation here is really pathetic.”
