Richa Singh, the girl who secured the fourth position in the ISC examination, today discharged her duties as the Deputy Commissioner of Kolkata police. Richa, is a daughter of a police officer who was felicitated and made the Deputy Commissioner for a day.
A student of G.D. Birla Centre for Education, she scored 99.25 per cent marks in the ISC Result 2019 announced on Tuesday. DC (ESD) Kalyan Mukherjee felicitated Richa for her academic excellence.
Richa was the DC of the South Eastern Division (SED) of city police from 6 am to 12 noon. Being her father’s “boss”, she had an order for him- return home early.
Her father Rajesh Singh is an additional officer-in-charge of Gariahat police station. An overwhelmed Rajesh said, “Can’t express how happy I am. She is my ‘superior’ for the day. She has ordered me to return home early. I shall obey her today.”

Richa plans to study history or sociology and appear for the UPSC examination.
