Four school students beaten up by Principal for saying ‘Jai Shri Ram’

The Principal had objected to raising ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans in the school, alleged Shubham.

The Hush Post: Four school students in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district were allegedly beaten up by their Principal after they uttered ‘Jai Shri Ram’. The incident came to light on Saturday after four students of Kamar Mahim Chandra Institute in Shaktipur leveled the accusations against school Principal Afiqueul Alam.

Class XI student Shubham Mandal informed that after the school got over on Friday, he and his three friends entered into a brawl with another student. The boy had said ‘Salamwalekum’, in response to which the four uttered ‘Jai Shri Ram’ following which the matter reached the Principal. The students have alleged that the Principal not only scolded them but also thrashed them with a stick.  The Principal had objected to raising ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans in the school, alleged Shubham.

The four students were taken to Primary Health Centre in Shaktipur, however, Shubham was referred to Murshidabad Medical College & Hospital as his condition was stated to be serious.  Shaktipur police station is probing the matter.
